DUTCH BULBS IN NEW YORK
The famous Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf has been asked to redesign The Battery in New York. After the attack on the Twin Towers on 11 September 2001, The Battery became a haven for many of those affected by the disaster. Part of the park will become the Gardens of Remembrance, in honour of those involved in the disaster. In the autumn of 2005, a huge number of Dutch bulbs will be planted in the park, such as Crocus tommasinianus, Allium christophii and Allium karataviense, Tulipa Queen of Night and Tulipa Spring Green. In spring 2006 they will bring new life to the park with their glorious display of colour.
BULBS AGAINST DRUGS CAMPAIGN

On the initiative of a Dutch web shop and the American National Family Partnership, a large group of American schoolchildren have planted bulbs together. With this symbolic act they are underlining their resolve not to take drugs. The web shop selects the bulbs and takes care of the logistics. The project is now in its fourth year. Each year there are more participants and the fifth anniversary therefore promises to be a large spectacle.

'Drug Free - I have the Power!' is this year's national Red Ribbon theme. Thousands of schools, families, and organizations joined us last year to 'Plant the Promise'. Almost 600.000 bulbs were planted! What better way to support a drug free America than by actually planting bulbs that will bloom into vibrant flowers?
